My Favorite Destination: Turks and Caicos & Grand Turk Islands
As a traveler, I’ve been fortunate enough to explore many beautiful corners of the world, but Turks and Caicos and Grand Turk Islands stand out as my absolute favorite destinations. These islands have a magic to them that I’ve yet to find anywhere else, a combination of natural beauty, adventure, and tranquility that creates the perfect backdrop for unforgettable memories.
An Underwater Paradise
For me, the real magic of Turks and Caicos is found beneath the surface. On this trip, I spent more than 50% of my time underwater—snorkeling, diving, and exploring the vibrant coral reefs. I’ll never forget the thrill of Snuba diving for the first time—floating weightlessly among the colorful marine life, feeling completely immersed in the ocean’s wonders. It wasn’t just about the fish or the coral, though; it was about the peace that came with being in such an untouched, awe-inspiring world.
Each day, we took boat excursions, heading out to see the shipwrecks that dot the coastline, snorkeling in remote coves, and visiting mini shell islands where we could relax, swim, and take in the stunning surroundings. One of the most memorable moments came when I learned to free dive—a challenge I’d always wanted to tackle, and one that changed how I experienced the underwater world. As a keepsake, I brought home a few giant conch shells (each weighing about 5lbs), a reminder of the time I spent in this stunning place.
Beaches Resort: The Perfect Family Getaway
Our stay at Beaches Resort in Turks and Caicos was nothing short of spectacular. As a family, it’s always a challenge to find a destination that has something for everyone, but this resort hit the mark in every way. My daughter spent her days enjoying the incredible kids’ clubs, making friends, and taking full advantage of the pool areas. For the adults, the swim-up bars and fantastic dining options provided the perfect opportunity to relax and unwind after a day of adventure.

Grand Turk: A Special Place to Return To
While Turks and Caicos was our primary destination, we’ve also had the pleasure of visiting Grand Turk two other times aboard cruises. Each visit was unique, but Grand Turk continues to hold a special place in my heart. The island offers a laid-back charm that feels worlds away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. With pristine beaches, rich history, and a quiet atmosphere, it’s the kind of place that invites you to slow down and truly enjoy the moment.
Whether we were exploring the local shops or simply lounging on the beach, Grand Turk always offered the perfect blend of adventure and relaxation.

These islands have given me memories I’ll treasure forever: the joy of seeing my daughter’s excitement as she discovered new things, the peace I felt floating above the coral reefs, and the laughter shared over drinks at the swim-up bar.
